ARIZONA HUD HOME BUYER RESOURCES
Arizona HUD Homes
A different path to your next home. Start with clear guidance, a realistic budget, and people who know Arizona.
UNDERSTAND THE OPPORTUNITY
What is a HUD home?
A HUD home is a one to four unit residential property acquired by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development after foreclosure on an FHA insured mortgage. HUD then offers the property for sale.
For Arizona buyers, that can open another door in the home search. Consider the property’s condition, your financing, and your plans along with the asking price.
Woods Hometown Realty helps you start that conversation across Yavapai, Maricopa, and Coconino counties.

ARIZONA HUD HOMES FAQ
A little clarity goes a long way.
Do I need to be a first time buyer?
No. HUD home purchases are not limited to first time buyers. Your eligibility, intended occupancy, financing, and the listing’s bidding period still matter.
Can investors buy HUD homes?
Yes, during an eligible bidding period. Investors cannot bid as owner occupants. See our buying guide for priority periods.
Can I submit my own offer online?
A HUD registered selling broker must submit your bid. Contact us before the deadline so we can discuss the property and next steps.
Will HUD make repairs?
HUD homes are sold as is without a condition warranty. Plan for independent inspections and a realistic repair budget.
Are HUD homes always a bargain?
No purchase is automatically a bargain. Compare the asking price with local alternatives, repair estimates, financing costs, and the total cash you will need.
Can I buy a home for one dollar?
HUD’s Dollar Homes initiative is directed to qualifying local governments, not an ordinary $1 purchase offer for individual homebuyers.
